Off to Brazil for the Tiradentes Food Festival

By on August 22, 2012
Brazil, here I come.

Tomorrow, I’m flying to Belo Horizonte in Brazil then to Tiradentes for a food festival.

You know I only go where the food is good, and since this BH is considered the heart of the agricultural world in Brazil,  I’m looking forward to some good eats.

BH is also considered the Bar capital of the country so I’ll find you some super cocktail recipes too.

Tiradentes is a little mining town where they hauled out the gold from Brazil and sent it to Portugal 200 years ago.  Tiradentes was the name of a Brazillian hero who stood up to the Portugese for stealing the wealth of his country.

They drew him and quartered him for it.  I hope to see this painting.

The real meaning of drawn and quartered in Brazil. when his hero stood up to the Portugese for hauling gold out of the mines and shipping it to Portugal. couple hundred years ago.

I mean, I have to find something to do in between meals.

Stay tuned,  I’ll post as often as I can from beautiful Brazil.  I’ve got the I-phone loaded with Brazillian music, and a couple aps for Brazillian travel phrases and vocab.  I’m good to go.

see you on the southern side.
